| it's not really for horsepower gains, it's more for smoother output (and somewhat increased throttle response). On most 300ZX dyno charts, the power gets a little jagged at high rpm, and this isn't always a product of detonation or compression or things like that, I believe that it's because of the type of ignition system we have. When the coil pack discharges at high rpms, it doesn't have a real long time to recharge before it needs to fire again, resulting in less than 100% efficiency, and the small dips in power on the charts. The Twin Power Ignition Amplifier can help smooth out the power up top because it's helping the coil packs recharge faster. That's my $.02. I may be wrong, but when I thought it through and talked with others about it, it seems like a reasonable belief. FWIW, I have full intentions of getting the Twin Power Ignition Amplifier.
